Spicy Black Chickpeas Sprouts Salad/Chaat

Natural sprouts are good for health and mind development. They are wonder food due to its high nutritional value. Sprouts are associated with amazing health benefits, it ensures blood purification and strengthens the immune system.

There are many recipes of sprouts here and today i am gonna share one of them, this is spicy black Chickpeas salad. In this recipe i used some salad vegetables and spices along with sprouted black chickpeas/chana. So lets begin to make this super yummy salad…

 

Ingredients
1 Cup sprouted black chickpeas
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 big tomato (finely chopped)
1 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 small boiled potato (cut into small cubes)
50 gram fresh coriander (finely chopped)
1/2 tea spoon black salt
1/2 tsp or as to taste rock salt
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

1. To prepare Sprouted chana chaat, we need to soak the dry Chickpeas overnight or for 7-8 hours.

2. Once they are soaked, drain the water and tie them in a clean damp cotton cloth.

3. Place it in a plate/bowl or plastic box and keep it in a warm place for about 24 to 36 hours. Sprinkle water every 4 to 5 hours at regular intervals until sprouted.

4. Now Boil the sprouted black chickpeas till they are tender and strain the excess water(do not over cook).

5. Lets the sprouts cool, then take a big bowl add all ingredients together and mix well. Now spicy black chickpeas sprouts chaat is ready, garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and serve immediately…Enjoy!!😊

Wheat Flour Chocolate Brownie(Eggless)


On the special Occasion of “Mothers Day” today i am gonna share a sweet recipe which is my all time favorite and it is as sweet as moms love.

I am dessert lover and brownies are my all time favorite. Some people like fudge brownies but i like cakey and more chocolatey.

Brownies are one of American best culinary invention. To make it more healthier i am using wheat flour instead of all purpose flour. You can prepare it in Microwave and cooker also but i am going to a share oven method.

Ingredients

1.5 cup wheat flour
85 gms butter
100 gms dark chocolate
3.5 table spoon Coco powder
1/2 cup + 2 table spoon sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 table spoon yogurt
1/4 cup milk(luke warm)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup chopped almonds
Instructions

1. To prepare Wheat flour eggless chocolate brownie we need to preheat the oven at 180℃.

2. Now mix the dry ingredients together in a big bowl – wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder.

3. Now sift the mixture 2 times and set aside.

4. Now take a big bowl, add chocolate and butter together and melt it in the Microwave (at medium temp for 1.5 mins) or double boiler. Meanwhile grease the baking tin.

5. Now take it out and mix well, after mixing add sugar, vanilla, whisked yogurt and nuts together and mix it very well.

6. Now add wheat flour mixture in it and mix well, pour this mixture into the greased tin, tap it 2 to 3 times, sprinkle  some crushed chocolate and walnut over it and then bake it in preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes.

 

7. When it is cool completely, cut into squares shape and serve with hot tea and enjoy it with your mamma… Happy Mothers Day!!

Farfalle Pasta With Spicy Jalfrezi

The combination of Farfalle pasta and Jalfrezi is so tasteful and we can prepare it easily.Though Jalfrezi is not a new thing for food lovers but adding it with Pasta is quite unique and so delicious and i am very much sure that all health conscious people going to like it.

Its perfect for all age groups but it can be so beneficial for all moms whose kids prefer to have pastas but not vegetables. By this moms can make it possible for kids to eat all vegetable along with pasta.

Only we need to keep all ingredients ready. Probably the most time consuming activity in preparing this recipe is to chop the vegetables so have patience as vegetables are the healthy part. So lets begin to prepare yummy Farfalle with Spicy jalfrezi…

Ingredients
1 cup farfalle pasta
2 cups of chopped vegetables (carrot, baby corn, colored capsicum, beans, cauliflower, etc)
1/2 Cup of onions, sliced
1/2 Teaspoon cumin seeds
2 Tablespoon of oil
1 Teaspoon of coriander powder
1/2 Teaspoon of red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
1/4 Teaspoon of black pepper powder
1.5 Tablespoon of tomato paste
1/2 Teaspoon of garam masala
3 to 4 whole red chillies

Salt as per taste
INSTRUCTIONS

1. To prepare jalfrezi pasta first of all prepare vegetables by washing, peeling, and chopping them.

 

2. Heat 3.5 cup of water in a big sauce pan and boil pasta Farfalle for about 8 to 10 minutes or until tender, stir occasionally. Drain and set aside.

3. Now heat oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds and whole red chillies. When they sizzle and turn darker brown, add the sliced onions.

4. Saute until the onions turn soft and a light golden brown. Then add all chopped vegetables and spices in it. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

5.Now add the tomato paste and mix well.

6.Top up with half cup of water and bring it to boiling level. Lower the flame and cover the pan until vegetables are cooked.

7.Take care and not to overcook them, the water should be lesser by now but if you find the gravy still watery, cook a bit longer leaving the pan open.

8.When the vegetables are cooked and the dish has the desired consistency, add Farfalle pasta, garam masala. Mix well and turn off the heat.

 

9.Now spicy farfalle is ready to be serve… Serve this with Your favorite sauce or as it is… Enjoy!!

There are multiple ways that we can use Pomegranate to add value in our taste and in our health too. Apart from being healthy, there are some other natural benefits of pomegranates like these are antioxidant, anti-viral and anti-tumor properties and are said to be a good source of vitamins, especially vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E, as well as folic acid.

During normal or high summer, human body is always in need of hydration and pomegranate cooler is one of the best hydration drink in summer because its multiple benefits with delicious taste. So today i am going to share an easy and super quick mocktail recipe pomegranate cooler, hope you all enjoy it…🍷🙂

Ingredients

1/2 cup fresh pomegranate seeds.1

Tea spoon lemon juice.1

2 to 14 fresh mint leaves.P

Pinch of black salt.

1 can chilled soda.

1.5 Tea spoon sugar syrup or powder suger.

4 to 5 Crushed ice cube.

Instructions

1. To prepare pomegranate cooler first we blend the half amount of pomegranate seeds.

2. Now crush the mint leaves with help of mortar pestle.

3. Take a glass, add 2 table spoon of blended pomegranate juice in it. Then add crushed mint leaves.

4. Now add 1 table spoon pomegranate seeds in it.

5. Add pinch of black salt, some crushed ice cube (according to taste) sugar syrup and then add soda in it. Mix slightly.

6. Now pomegranate cooler is ready to serve…garnish it with lemon wedge and enjoy this super cool mocktail recipe in hot summer days!!

Basic Chilli Pickle

Pickles are my most demanding thing when during lunch or dinnner and feeling is always more better when its home made.

 

Handmade pickles are always the trustworthy pickles and reasons are very simple – we can trust the ingredients, we can trust the hygiene quality and moreover we all in love with that taste.

As a part of learning and also with intention to share that home made demanding recipe with you all – today i am going to share chilli pickle recipes with two method. Both are very simple and easy to make, even though ingredient are almost same but tastes are different. Hope you all like both methods.

*Chilli Pickle Maharashtrian Style*

Ingredients

10 to 12 green chillies(chopped).
5 Tblsp split mustard seeds (yellow or black).
3 Tbsp fennel seeds (grounded)
3 Tbsp coriander seeds (grounded)
1/2 cup mustard oil
1/2 tsp asafoetida
1.5 tsp turmeric powder
1.5 tblsp salt
2 tblsp lime juice

Instructions

1. To prepare Chilli pickle, first we need to wash and wipe dry the chillies.

2. Now chop them in one inch size or small pieces keep aside.

3. Now coarsely ground the mustard seeds.

4. Take a big bowl add grounded mustard seeds and all spices in it. Then add lemon juice.

 

5. Now take tadka pan and heat mustard oil in it untill it becomes Smokey. Then slowly pour the hot mustard oil over the mixed spices.

6. Now mix it very well and then add chopped chillies in it and mix well.

7. Now chilli pickle is ready. Keep it in the strelized jar. You can keep this pickle for 2 to 3 days at room temperature. So enjoy this spicy chilli pickle with puri, pratha, rice, chapati or as your choice….enjoy!

*Basic Chilli Pickle*

 

Ingredients

15 Green pepper

7 Tbsp Coriander seeds (coarsely grounded)

5 Tbsp Fennel seeds (coarsely ground)

2 Tbsp Mustard seeds

2.5 TSp Salt

Pinch of asafoetida

1 Tsp turmeric

3 Tbsp mustard oil

Instructions

(It is highly advised to wear gloves while preparing chilly pickle. It will help to avoid burning sensation)

1. To prepare chilli pickle, first wash and dry the chillies and cut a vertical length wise slit in each one.

 

2. Take a big bowl add all spices coriander, fennel seeds, mustard, asafoetida salt turmeric and mix well.

 

3. Now heat oil until it turns hot and pour over the dry ingredients mixture and mix well.

4. Stuff the spice mix into the green pepper and place in a sterilised glass jar.

5. Chilli pickle is ready. You can eat it as it is or after 2 or 3 days it becomes more tasty, you can enjoy this chilli pickle with chapati, pratha, poori or as your taste.

You can refrigerate use chilly pickle up to one month.

Khoa Pethha(Ash Gourd Sweet) Laddu


#Navratri special Recipe

There are many varieties and flavors of khoa (Dried whole milk) laddu like kesar khoa laddu, dry fruits khoa laddu and plain khoa laddu.

Today i am going to share khoa pethha laddu recipe especially for navratri fasting. Recipe is very simple which contains khoya, coconut powder, ash gourd sweet (pethhe ki mithai) and some dryfruits only.

This is one of the best North Indian sweet and famous for its taste. So must try once and after that i am sure, you will also become a big fan of it…

 

Ingredients

 

300 gram khoa (Crumbled)

150 gram Ash gourd sweet(pethhe ki mithai).

100 gram coconut powder

8 Almonds (chopped)

 

Instructions

 

1. To prepare khoa pethha laddu firstly we need to grate the ash gourd sweet.

2. Now take a big plate and add khoa, grated pethha sweet and half quantity of coconut powder in it.

3. Mix them very well.

4. Now make smooth lemon sized ball out of the mixture and then cover it with coconut powder.

5. Likewise prepare all laddu and garnish them with chopped almonds.

This is very easy and super tempting recipe, So you can prepare it on any fasting or Navratri fast or any special occasion like Diwali, Rakshabandhan or whenever you want to eat something sweet…Enjoy!!😊

Barnyard Millet Mini Idli  Or Vrat ke chawal ki idli


#Navratri Special Recipe

Barnyard Millet Mini Idli is one of the amazing option during fasting or especially during Navratri vrat. As we all aware that we can either have samvat rice or barnyard millet during Navratri fast so lets try this easy and healthy recipe and you will find a major difference in taste and positive body routine.

Its difficult to eat fruits, juices and some oily food all the time. So i made samvat rice idli today. Its a oil free and super tasty dish which is quite easy to make and also easy to digest and off course a big help to change your taste…

Ingredients

200gm barnyard Millet or samvat rice(coarsely grounded).

180 gm yogurt.

1/4 cup water.

1/2 tsp black pepper powder

Rock salt as per taste

1 tsp clarified butter for greasing.

1 small carrot (grated)

50 gm fresh coriander (chopped)

2 green chillies (chopped)

Instructions

1. To prepare Mini idli, first we need to whisk the yogurt in a bowl and add gronded samvat rice into it.

 

2. Mix them well and add chopped carrot, green chilli, rock salt and black pepper powder in it.

3. Whisk the mixture once again, cover and set aside for 20 minutes.

4. After 20 minutes check the mixture consistency and make sure that the mixture should not neither too thick nor too thin. You can add water if required.

 

5. Grease the ildi moulds with minimum clarified butter.

 

 

6. Now pour batter in moulds evenly. Fill only 1 tea spoon batter in each.

7. Take half cup water in microwave safe idli mould base and arrange both idli stand over it.

 

8. Now cover and cook on high for 2 minutes only.

9. Then take them out of the microwave. Keep them covered with a lid for 2 mins.

Now garnish with grated carrot and coriander leaves….You can serve them with coconut chatni, tomato chatni or pomegranate rayta….hope you all like this super easy and yummy dish in your navrati fast or whenever you want you eat something light and healthy……..Enjoy!!😊
